WorldSkills Luxembourg through the years

From the first international participations to LuxSkills, EuroSkills and WorldSkills, Luxembourg has built a strong tradition of skills excellence. This timeline highlights the moments that shaped the movement — national competitions, international achievements, European milestones and the road ahead.

1957 Milestone

Luxembourg joins the WorldSkills movement

Luxembourg becomes part of the international WorldSkills network, joining a global movement dedicated to vocational excellence and skills development.

1961 WorldSkills

First documented Luxembourg participation

Eight young talents represent Luxembourg at the international skills competition in Duisburg.

1963 WorldSkills

First international medals

Team Luxembourg brings home two silver medals and one bronze medal in Dublin — an early sign of Luxembourg’s potential on the world skills stage.
